The Department of Economics invites applications for admission to the PhD Program in Economics. The aim of the Program is to offer high quality training in Economics and to promote economics research. Its graduates are able to serve as faculty members in Greece and abroad, as researchers in research centers or as consultants in public and private enterprises and organizations.

• Business Economics
• Political Economy
• Finance

The doctoral students of the Department can apply for scholarships offered by the University of Crete. The criteria for receiving a scholarship include the overall grade in the post-graduate degrees of the candidate, the number and quality of his publications, his contribution to the teaching activities of the Department, etc.
